Doha Metro Network
Doha Metro Network is distributed in 3 lines (Red, Green, and Golden) that connect different parts of Doha with 37 Metro stations. Here, we will see what parts of Doha City are connected with these lines.
Red Line (Coast Line)
This 40 KM red line metro route covers 18 Doha Metro stations from Lusail north to Al Wakra south. It has 2 interchanges, one at Al Bidda with a green line and another at Msheireb with a golden line that connects all three lines.

It started from Al Riffa and ended up at Al Mansoura covering the distance of 22 KM and 11 Metro stations.

Blue Line
The Blue Line is a 17.5 km construction project of Doha Metro and includes a further 60 stations and will be completed by 2026. It covers the area from Hamad International Airport Terminal 2 to West Bay.

Doha Metro Travel Cards and Fares
Doha Metro tickets are categorized into two classes Standard (Including Family Class) and Golden Club.
Standard (Including Family Class)
In this category the fares are less as compared to Golden Club, the one-time use ticket price is QR 2 and for multiple use (for one day only) is QR 6.

Golden Club
The ticket price for one-time use is QR 10 and for multiple use is QR 30.

Note: There is no limitation on the use of these rechargeable cards and can be used at any time during metro operating hours.
There is no age limit to travel on Doha Metro, the fare price is the same for kids as for adults from 5 years and above age and requires a travel card.
These cards are also valid for Lusail Tram which is also a part of Doha Metro. As Lusail Tram does not have Gold Class Gold Club members can use the standard Class.
30 days Travel Card
Doha Metro and Lusail Tram have introduced a 30-day that allows consecutive 30-day unlimited travel at a price of QR120.
What is the Difference Between Doha Metro Travel Cards?
The travel cards are categorized according to carriages. There are three types of carriages in the Doha metro standard, family, and gold. The travel card price is the same for standard and family carriages and standard travel cardholders are not allowed to travel in gold ones.
The family carriage allows females or family only, lone male is not allowed to travel in this carriage.
Where to Buy Doha Metro Travel Cards?
The standard card can be purchased from the Station Travel card vending machine or licensed retailers: Al Meera, Carrefour, Family Food Centre, Jumbo Electronics, and Lulu Hypermarket.
Gold Club card can be purchased from Golden Club offices at any Doha Metro Station. Travel cards can also be purchased from Talabat Mart, and they are delivered to your doorstep.
How to Recharge Doha Metro Travel Cards?
The Doha Metro Travel Cards can be topped up from metro station vending machines, online through the Qatar Railways website, or by using the mobile app free Qatar Rail app from Google Play Store.

Gold Club cardholders can recharge their card from Goldenclub offices.
Note: Rechargeable travel cards are valid for 5 years. There are 90 minutes to travel without tapping the card after the first tap. During these 90 minutes, passengers are allowed to change stations and trains, after this duration the new ticket will be charged.
Doha Metro Free Shuttle Service
The government of Qatar is providing a free shuttle service to all passengers to make the Doha Metro project accessible to everyone. There are types of shuttle services offered by Metrolink and Metro Express.
Metrolink Service
Metrolink is a feeder bus network providing first and last-mile connectivity to Qatar Rail customers within 2 to 5 kilometres of the Doha Metro stations. It covers 60 routes around the metro stations.
Price and Use:
It is a free-of-cost service. It can be used by downloading a Karwa Smart Card on a mobile phone and getting a QR Code (available on the Karwa Journey Planner App) or using Doha Metro & Lusail Tram Travel Cards (standard and gold club cards).
Tap in and out the QR code or cards when using this bus service. By using these Metrolink service options, no charge will be imposed.
Metro Express Service
The metro express is a ride-sharing feeder service provided to the passengers in the zone of the metro, exclusively for registered tram and metro (standard and gold club) passengers.
If a passenger is not on the route of Metrolink, can use the services of Metro Express. It is a private branded vehicle service that can accommodate 7 passengers. It is more convenient and comfortable as compared to buses. Customers can request metro express on-demand using service Karwa Taxi App (download Google Play Store or App Store).
The metro express now serves ten metro stations (6 on the Red Line, 2 on the Green Line, and 2 on Gold Line) and seven Lusail tram stations.
Wi-Fi service
Wi-Fi service is also provided at Metro stations and trains. Passengers can purchase a subscription plan for a week or a month under ‘Add-Ons’ on the easy-to-use Metro Wi-Fi screens. After purchasing the plan Wi-Fi is automatically connected with Qatar Rail’s whenever near to any metro station.
Qatar Rail provides a 30-minute free Wi-Fi to every passenger and a fee will be charged for using additional minutes.
